Calculating KT values (cm^-1)

So i have a question of how to calulate the first exited levels of a compounds such as Nickel at room temp.

what i am thinking is to use the energy equation

E = h(k/Mu)(n+1/2)

h = planks constant
k= spring constant for Ni
Mu = reduced Mass
n = 1, because the first excited state.

but the only problem i have is the units are in Joules not cm^-1

and another problem i have, i dont the k value for Ni
