Carbon Paste Electrode
« on: January 25, 2012, 07:04:28 PM »
Hi everyone!
I really need your help.

Does anyone know how to make carbon paste electrode? The company my school usually orders from doesn't have carbon paste electrodes (only carbon rod electrodes). So I'll have to make my own.

I researched/googled but I can't find any information on this! I know that the main component of carbon paste is graphite powder, but I don't know what other chemicals. Also, how do you put them together?

Thank you! :D

it is graphite (narrow dispersion) and parrafin oil, according to a manufacturer's website.

I have no experience making this, as we usually buy glassy carbon electrodes and polish those down.
