A cell-free enzyme is used in a batch reaction process for the manufacture of sunscreen
lotion. Vmax for the enzyme is 10mM.hr-1, Km is 6.8 mM, and the initial substrate concentration is
14mM. Determine the final substrate concentration, given a batch reaction time of 3 hours.
t(b) = (Km/Vmax)ln(So/Sf) + (So - Sf)/Vmax
3 = (6.8/10)ln(14/Sf) + (14 - Sf)/10
Sf + 6.8ln(Sf) = 1.95
This is my problem in the line up above, how do I eliminate this "ln" or is there another equation I can use?
