Why is the melting point of silicon oxide much lower than that of Diamond when they both have similar structures?

diamond and silicon dioxide share similar structure.
hint: what bonds are broken when these 2 substances are melting?

Well you have to break C-C bonds in diamond & in silicon oxide the Si-O bonds....but the thing is that the bond strength of Si-O is more than that of C-C!!!!!
Pls *delete me*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
