The whole idea of a website dedicated to chemistry discussions is still a novel concept. Good luch finding a community of graduate students and professional chemists more active than this one.

At any rate, when we update the software to www.simplemachines.org software, I will make a seperate graduate forum for all the disciplines within the currently established  student help forums.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Many of the staff here are grad students themselves, so feel free to ask grad-level questions and we will do our best to help.

As Mitch said, right now this forum is probably your best bet for grad-level discussions online.  I was looking for the same thing that you are when I found this forum and I definitely think it is the best and really the only one that is dedicated to chemistry.

For procedures, http://www.syntheticpages.org/ is pretty good, but their content is a little bit limited and the site isn't very interactive in my experience.

Great. Thanks for the info.  I will say, I am a bit surprised the ACS doesn't a forum outside of the journals.  If this is the case then I'm positive there would be a relatively large market for a research/political oriented forum.

Best of luck and shoot me an email if you want any help getting the word out.

I doubt it, such things suffer from subject specialization. Plus, the old guard of experts in the field rarely spend anytime "chatting" on the internet. If its going to be done, it'll be done with this generation of Chemist professionals.

Sure always spread the word of the site, get people to link to it and help the community grow.
