Hexamethylphosphorous triamide to generate phosphites esters
« on: February 27, 2012, 06:59:31 PM »
Hi all,

Just I was thinking in using Hexamethylphosphorous triamide to react with one alcohol to generate phosphites esters.

Should I need any base to extract the alcohol proton or just leave it reacted with Hexamethylphosphorous triamide will give me the phosphite ester?

Thanks in advance...

I don't think HMPA reacts with alcohols that way. Maybe if you added some acid to the mix it might, but I think there's better ways of getting a monophosphite.
