Hurt while dealing with sulfuric acid
« on: October 19, 2011, 09:17:40 AM »
hi all

recently I have doing an experiment on how to determine the protein content by using GERHARD method. So of course when I was using this method, I was also dealing with concentrated sulfuric acid.

But unluckily , this H2SO4 flow at my hand. My finger felt pain and itchy.

can somebody tell me abput this uncomfortable phenomena? curios to know.

What's the GERHARD method?
I googled it but I couldn't find anything on what it is or how to do it.
