omg im so lost. if the daily intake of iron for women is 14. 8mg.
how do i calculate the number of moles of elemental iron, Fe???
i dun get it.

and...wat mass in mg of ferrous gluconate would satisfy the RNI (recimended daily intake ) of iron if daily intake of iron is 14.8 mg.  

plz plz hellp

its pretty basic.

Fe has a molar mass of 55.85 grams/mole.  intake is .0148 grams.  to get grams to cancel out, and moles to be the unit, you need to take grams/(grams/mole).  This gives you moles of Iron.  Determine the molar mass of ferrous gluconate from the molecular formula, and realize that through stoichiometric relationships, you have equal moles of ferrous gluconate and iron intake.  now you have moles of iron, and (grams/mole) of ferrous gluconate.  you need to have grams/1000 (mg) of ferrous gluconate, so multiply the terms and make moles cancel.  now you are left with grams of ferrous gluconate.
