Greetings!

This is my first post in this forum, so I don't know if I'm put my question in the correct location (if no, sorry!)

I'm attending classes of Experimental Chemistry, and we have one class reserved to do a job of our choice.
Some time ago I saw a video that showed how they made synthetic sponge, and then I decided to try to produce a synthetic sponge in this class. The problem is that I can't find any protocol on how to synthesize any sponge type: polyether, polyester, or PVA. So I ask for help if someone could provide me a protocol? I would prefer to produce a soft sponge, and not something like polyurethane...

Ok, thank you for your reply! I read the patent, and really describes the production of foams. The problem is that one of the processes needs isocyanate, and other processes require specific reagents from the old BASF, and I doubt that my teacher can arranje these reagents... There will be another simpler way to synthesize sponge and not use rare reagents, or dangerous?
