Identification of unknown organic compound via GC-TCD(detector to be used is TCD)

Describe how would you identify the unknown organic compound using the 2 organic solvents(acetone and ethanol)via GC?

This is so vague you have no chances of getting any reasonable answer.

I try to make it more clear

The unknown organic compound is bascially extracted from the soup sample and will be given to you for the analysis in the lab

The two organic solvents (acetone and ethanol)are to be used as standards in identification of the unknown organic compounds in Gas chromatography-thermal conductivity detector.

I dont understand that why we must use the two organic solvents to identify the unknown organic compound via GC?
