Equilibrium dissociation constant question

6g of an organic compound X was dissolved in 100 cm3 of water and 100 cm3 of methylybenzene. X is more soluble in methylene than in water. Given the Kd of x in
methlybenzene is 8 times as in water, Calculate

a) the amount of x that will be extracted from the solution of the two solvents when 200 cm^3 of methylbenzen is used.


b) when 4 50 cm3 of aliquots of methybenzene is used

Attempt at a)
let y represent the amount of X that dissolved in water
the since kd of methylbenzene= 8 kd of water
===> 8y should dissolve in methylbenzene.
6 g = y+8y
6 g =9y
y= 0.666 g
=> the mass of x that should be extracted from the methylbenzene is 5.328 g and water 0.628 g ?
