Hi

I have a self assembled monolayer on gold. The terminal group is a C(O)-Ch2-Cl group. Under what conditions should i react a thiol molecule to form a thioether bond on the surface. I plan to use pH 8 buffer but i am afraid that the monolayer might not be stable at that pH.

ANY SUGGESTIONS??
