P-2 Nickel Reduction
« on: August 17, 2012, 02:36:10 PM »
I just did a standard P-2 nickel reduction of an internal alkyne.  I got 74% yield.  Does that seem low to anyone who has done one?
If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the precipitate

Maybe a bit low but not bad for a first shot. Perhaps some over reduction?

No over reduction by GC.  Did not take an NMR though.  I think I can do better, next time.  Ill let you know.  Thanks Dan.
