What causes the doublet on Hydrogen's atomic spectrum?

We have to say how Schrodinger corrected Bohr's theory and one of the problems with it that was listed was that Bohr thought the doublet was a single red line so wtf did Schrodinger do to fix it if he even did anything at all. Does it have something to do with the spin on the electrons?

Exactly, it has everything to do with spin. Read this section on Hydrogen Fine Structure and let me know if you have any more questions.
