APTMS solidifies if left open in air. With toulene it remains stable as it do not react with it until kept air tight. Is there any way of making a solution of APTMS in some solvent which do not solidify when kept for hours in air keeping in mind that the APTMS functional property is not disturbed as I require this solution as a ink for deposition on Silicon Dioxide surface and want that the silane get attached to silicon and amine groups are left free.

The short answer is no.

APTMS goes solid because the methoxy groups react with moisture in the air to form siloxane bonds; as there are three of them you get cross-linking which give a solid.

You might be able to put in a moisture scavenger to give enough working time with it open to the air but only for a dilute solution and probably not for hours.

Thanks for the reply. I  hope you can help me more on this, the solvents in which APTMS remains stable are Toulene, Xylene, Trichloroethylene, acetone, chloroform but problem with all these solvents is that they evaporate rapidly. Can you suggest me some other solvents which do not evaporate rapidly as well as APTMS functionality is restrained. If its possible to make a stable solution even for 20 min that will work fine.
