« on: October 02, 2012, 11:39:54 AM »
What is the max. mass of S8 that can be produced by combining 81.0g of each reactant?
8SO2 + 16H2:rarrow: 3S8 + 16H2O

Thanks in advance for any help at all!

Hint: this is a limiting reagent problem.

covert
81.0g of SO2 ---> moles of SO2 ---> moles of S8
81.0g of H2S---> moles of H2S ---> moles of S8
the one which gives you minimum no of moles of S8 is the limiting reactant
you can convert minimum number of moles to g of S8
