Pseudo-diluition
« on: October 04, 2012, 02:50:03 AM »
Hi guys,
I'm Antonio, and i'm graduating in chemical sciences in Bari, Italy.
I'm preparing an exam about new technologies in organic synthesis.
I haven't understood what is pseudo-diluition in regards to solid phase peptides synthesis.
Could anybody help me? thank you so much

A quote from a IUPAC document "Site Isolation: Property of solid supports whereby functional groups are separated from each other by the polymeric framework, and thus, while they may be physically in close proximity, reduced levels of reaction between sites may be observed. Also refered to as pseudo-dilution."
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!
