Factors affecting rates of a reaction

30ml of water, 15ml oxalic acid, 15,ml sulphuric acid is in a beaker, 5 ml KMnO4 is added (reaction takes 4mins)

2KMnO4 + 5H2C2O4 + 3H2SO4 -> 2MnSO4 + K2SO4 + 10CO2 + 8H2O

After his reaction is complete another 5 ml of KMnO4 is added and the reaction takes 1 min

explain why there is a difference in the time from the first reaction
Please help this is due tomorrow
