Saponification of ethyl acetate using sodium hydroxide
« on: October 31, 2012, 06:24:15 PM »
Basically I'm carrying out saponification of ethyl acetate using sodium hydroxide in (a) a batch reactor and (b) a mixed flow reactor. I have no problems with the experiment itself but I'm currently trying to locate theoretical values for the reaction rate constants in both situations. They were both carried out at 32oC but I understand it will be difficult to get values at that temperature.
Has anyone got any good links/books to help me out?  :)

This is probably not helpful, but there was a J. Chem. Ed. article on the kinetics of the reversible esterification of acetic acid with ethanol with an acidic resin in a reactor:  http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ed100471j
