i have 2 types of electrons A & B, they have similar mass, both have identical charges of e^- and s=1/2, m_s=±1/2.
For beryllium nucleus(Z=4) with 2 type A electrons and 2 type B electrons.

how would i setup the slater determinate for this system?
would I have two 2x2 determinate, type A times type B?

You would have a 4x4 determinant. Like this

1s(1) 1s*(1) 2s(1) 2s*(1)

1s(2) 1s*(2) 2s(2) 2s*(2)

1s(3) 1s*(3) 2s(3) 2s*(3)

1s(4) 1s*(4) 2s(4) 2s*(4)

s can be A and s* can be B.
