Can anoyone please help me name it. I think it is 2-ETHYL, 4,4,- DIMETHYL, PENTANOIC ACID.
IS THAT CORRECT?

That name looks OK.
Sorry I mis-read the name it is actually 2-ethyl-4-methylpentanoic acid

Why would the 5th carbon in the longest chain be treated as a substituent leading to 4,4-dimethyl? Wouldn't it just be 2-ethyl-4-methylpentanoic acid?
