Simple mole question
«

I have a simple question (I'm certain) for someone brighter than me. If I'm given a 0.5215 g sample of CaCO3 dissolved in 12M HCl and diluted to 250.0 mL. If asked, How many moles of CaCO3 are used, is the 12M HCl significant?
Thanks

No, HCL has nothing to do with the number of moles of CaCO3 that you used. So you asume you used enough HCl so that all of your CaCO3 is dissolved. All you need to do is devide 0.5215 g with the molar weight of CaCO3 and you'll get your number of moles.
