I have and issue with Ammonia and water absorption, I know that water can absorb roughly 2 lbs. of ammonia for every gallon of water.
Common sense say the your volume will increase dramatically but I have seen 5 lbs. of ammonia dumped into five gallons of water and never run over a five gallon bucket.
The question is how much does the volume change if you take 25000 lbs. of Ammonia and add it to 25000 gallons of water?

Why don't you use density tables to calculate the exact change in the volume?
