When do you use a 1 in the numerator when finding Kc instead of the products?

Please elaborate - give examples of what you mean.

I think I may know what you are aiming at, but its just a wild guess at the moment.

i think you meant to ask what if Kc=1.

if Kc=1 means the reaction is at equilibrium,
if Kc is less than one then reaction should proceed to right to make more product to reach equilibrium
if kc>1, then the reaction should shift to left to reach equilibrium.
