Science Fair...

Okay I have a science fair due soon, and I haven't got the slightest clue of how to go about this lab procedures thing. So I opted to do some water safety testing for my subject, and I'm trying to find some tests I can find online, some test that I can do at home, and not take it to a lab. If anyone finds a method that allows water to be tested at home. Please tell me, I know this is a lot to ask but if anyone has something... Thanks

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.

Would checking chlorine concentrations at different water fountains be a valid study?

Although it is probably good to come up with an innovative idea for a science fair project, I am under the impression that it is sufficient to show that you can set up a good experiment and implement that experiment.
Let me know if this is correct.
