same things? Empirical formula and formula unit

what is the relationship between empirical formula and formula unit? or both these are same having the only differnece of name?

Empirical Formula usually refers to molecules i.e. NH2 referring to N2H4

Formula unit is basically the same thing as empirical formula but can only refer to ionic compounds i.e. NaCl referring to Na1000Cl1000
