harmonic oscilllator
« on: February 18, 2013, 05:45:51 PM »
Hi can anyone help me with this.
The energy of a three-dimensional harmonic oscillator is

      E = Ex + Ey + Ez = (vx + ½)hνx + (vy + ½)hνy + (vz + ½)hνz ,

where vx = 0,1,,2,…; vy = 0,1,2,…; vz = 0,1,2,…
If kx = ky, and kz = 100kx, what is the degeneracy of the first three energy levels?
