Greetings
I write to all of you about special problem in organic synthesis. I have 1,2-dibromo-3,4,6-trimethoxy-5-methylbenzene and I need to convert into 2-bromo-3,5,6-trimethoxy-4-methylbenzaldehyde. I think in Grignard nucleophilic reaction over DMF (dimethylformamide). But, the problem is two bromine presence in the molecule. I think in very cooled bath to generate a selective Grignard reagent formation, but I don't know if it's possible. I need proccedures to obtain the product. If you have other ideas, post me.
Thanks.
