Reaction rate of alkyl halid
« on: April 07, 2013, 02:46:42 PM »
Between Sn2 and Sn1 reaction mechanisms, which one would be faster?
plz explain this overall rate for 1", 2", 3" , Allylic and benzylic halides.

As per my knowledge  SN2 goes 1>2>Allylic~benylic ~ 3 and  and Sn1 3', Allylic~benylic~2", >1' but I cannt think of overall rate.
