Copper into Silver Nitrate
« on: February 03, 2006, 10:45:27 PM »
When a copper wire is placed into silver nitrate (AgNo3), the copper replaces the silver because copper is above silver in the activity series. So, would the equation go like this:
Cu+AgNo3-->CuNo3+Ag

Or is it something else? And if you don't mind, can someone explain a bit to me about the reaction? Thank you.
