Which is the mechanism of hydrolysis of [Ru(NH3)6]2+, knowing that the rate increases upon addition of an acid.

The NH3 ligand will react with the acid, and, therefore, the water will serve as a ligand as NH3 is converted to NH4+, which is not nucleophillic.
