If I have a water bottle filled with 5% concentrated ethanoic acid and I add in enough calcium bicarbonate to produce 1 mol of carbon dioxide; How can I transfer most of the gas product from bottle A to bottle B?
since the molar mass of CO2 is heavier than that of air, I thought of holding the bottle upside down- but this wouldn't work because there is liquid reactants inside of the bottle. I thought of putting it in a balloon, and then using that balloon to transfer it to another bottle, but another problem remains; there will be air inside of that bottle.
How can I remove a lot of the air from a bottle so it can mainly consist of the CO2 I put in it?
