Hello,
Today I got a question about determination of nitrate in water.
I know that Nitrate in water can be analyzed by spectrophotometer or Ion chromatography.
But He who gave me a question said,
there is a method that using Micellar liquid chromatography.
So I searched and found a paper,
Title:
Determination of lnorganic Anions by High-performance Liquid
Chromatography Using a Micellar Mobile Phase
Author:
Frank G. P. Mullins and (the late) Gordon F. Kirkbright
ANALYST, SEPTEMBER 1984, VOL. 109
that paper says, mobile phase that contains Hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride
can separate Nitrate with No pretreatment to water.
Could it possible?
I don't know about that well but..
If that paper written in 1984 is so good,
why that paper's method cannot up to Standard method book??
Anybody knows about this,
please tell me quick..
best regard!
