What happens if I were to mix household chemicals, can I substitute old sauce bottles for beakers for doing experiments?

Unless you know specifically what you are doing, don't.  Mixing some household chemicals together can literally kill you.

     I agree. DEFINITELY do not mix chemicals that you are completely unsure of the products. Experiments like that should be done in a fume hood if at all. Many reactions between household chemicals yield toxic gases that can harm not only you but the people who live in your house, especially without proper ventilation.
