« on: May 20, 2013, 06:06:48 PM »
1 g of the analyzed sample contain 22.56 mg/L of Total Nitrogen(TN). If I were to set the same concentration at 22.56 mg/L of TN in 12.5 L of water, how many grams of sample do i need to use? Please advise.

You must show you have attempted the question, this is a Forum Rule.

How many mg of TN will there be in 12.5 L at the stated concentration?

Since 1 g of sample analyzed contain 22.56 mg/L of TN. That’s 22.56 mg of TN in 1 L. In 12.5 L of water, there will be 12.5 L x 22.56 mg/L= 282 mg of TN. That means the samples weigh needed is 282/22.56 = 12.5 g of the sample. Is that correct?

Hang on a minute. Do you mean 1 g of sample contains 22.56 mg TN, or do you mean the concentration of the sample is 22.56 mg/L?
