burning sulphur in oxygen?

does burning sulphur in oxygen form sulphur dioxide or trioxide?

Dioxide.  I wish it gave the trioxide.  That would make me so happy.

well than in question 12 f this paper, my answer comes A, whereas the correct answer is D. how is it D?

How is it A?  If you work out how much oxygen is consumed per mole of material you do not get straight line.  Mg uses ½ a mole of O2, Al uses 3/4 and S uses 2. If we make the denominator all 4 that gives 2, 3 and 8 as the y values so D gives the correct shape graph.

But S uses only 1 mole.... and I looked into the examiner's report... it says the question was cancelled :/

Yes you are right ignore everything I said.  It should be 1/2, 3/4 and 1 which is a straight line.
