Shape of the p-orbital
« on: July 25, 2013, 11:50:34 PM »
hi,
what should be the true electron probability density or the shape of
a p-orbital? Some say it is ''dumbbell'' and some say it is ''pear-shaped''
If both of them are correct, then what is the difference between them
Ths a lot!

If you take two pears and attach them at the stem end, what do you get?
