Help with this problem please?
« on: October 07, 2013, 11:59:02 PM »
Help please. I can't figure out this problem!!!

One of the steps in the purification of uranium ore involves the reaction of uranium(VI) oxide with bromine trifluoride

6 UO3(s) + 8 BrF3(l) → 6 UF4(s) + 4 Br2(l) + 9 O2(g)

How many grams of excess reactant remains after 8.88 grams of UO3 are reacted with 4.41 grams of BrF3?

Compare how much mole 1 UO3 fits to BrF3

Calculate the moles for the given reactants and compare again what is in excess.

The difference from the given value and the calculated value is the result.
