Hi All,
As part of my final year of college I have to simulate a plant which would produce ammonia at the rate we desire. We will cover every aspect of the plant process but also we have to specify a location in the world. We are basing our process on the steam reforming of natural gas so naturally enough the location with the largest supply of natural gas would be the best choice which happens to be Russia (1,688,228 billion cubic feet of natural gas). However, there is an emphasis on large manufacturing plants of Ammonia on the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia (287,844 billion cubic feet). I was just wondering whether someone had a source or would have any experience in dealing with planning regulations in Russia which might provide a reason for why these larger plants aren't being built in Russia? We are also looking at general climate conditions which have been mentioned in some references.
