Reactor with recycle and reaction
« on: November 03, 2013, 11:11:51 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering, if you have a reactor with a recycle and purge stream, is it the case that a nonreactive species will have the same amount going into the feed as coming out of the purge, but a reactive species will not have the same coming out of the purge than being fed?

Sort of.

For the non reactive species you are assuming it ends up none in  your product stream. Also, you are assuming no accumulation. i.e. Steady State
