A question NH4CL to 10 mL of water..
« on: November 03, 2013, 07:21:05 PM »
What would happen if you added 2g of NH4Cl to 10 mL of water, rather than 1 g?  Would it get colder, or the solution would not get as hot or the solution would not get as cold?  This question is tricky >_< I put it would get hotter, but got it wrong. perhaps the answer is it would not get as cold and it would get as hot?  Meaning it is in between

It is not tricky, but it requires you to know that the ammonium chloride dissolution is endothermic. You were thinking correctly, you just assumed reaction is exothermic.
