Hi,
This is a pretty specific question, but if anybody has the knowledge I'd be very grateful!
I am working on a computational project and was pondering the differences between the ief (Integral Equation Formalisation) and sci (Self-Consistent-Isodensity) pcm (Polarised Continuum models) for solvation. Is it that ief is not fully self-consistent, but is still found to work better for ionic solvents?
from what I've understood, the QM/MM way of treating a molecule in solvent looks similar to PCM methods...is this right?
Many thanks.
