Finding Intitial Conc. given % ionization and Kb
« on: December 18, 2013, 07:25:21 PM »
If the Kb of ammonia is 1.74x10^-5 mol/L and the percent ionization is 4.16%, determine the initial concentration of the solution.

NH3 (aq) + H2O (l) <---> NH4 (aq) + OH

I've tried basically everything. Ice tables, etc. I just can't figure this one out. Could anyone help me out?

Write what it does mean "percent ionization". Also, write formula for Kb. See what looks similar.
