Calculating a heteratom coupling constant
« on: February 19, 2014, 12:51:34 AM »
Is it possible to calculate a couple constant between 13C and, say, a family 1 or 2 metal based solely upon NMR splitting patterns and a given constant at a particular temperature? If so, could someone please explain how this is done?

I am able to predict the trend (splitting decreases as temperature decreases, so the 13C-M coupling constant will increase as a result), but I don't know how to obtain a numeric value for J...
