My questions are all very pertaining to graduate students who perform reactions on daily basis. I do not understand what classifies questions should go to "professional" and what go to "students".

And no, how to use a separatory funnel, and a homework question on the reactivities of butyl-lithiums aren't a "for professionals" type question.  Answer a few of the questions in the "for professionals" forums, if you believe your questions rate.

Everyone should do this.  We get people who post in Nano-tech and materials, to ask how glue works,  We get people who post questions about D-I-Y medicines in Biotech.  You do need to know the basics if you want to post outside of High School, Undergrad, or Organic Chemistry forums.  You get to post where you can answer the other questions.

Grad/pro tends to be for questions of a more technical nature; generally questions that can only be answered by chemists with specialist knowledge or considerable practical experience. The org chem forum gets more traffic anyway, so your question will probably get more responses there.

Firstly, I apologize for my posting in the wrong section. And thank you for your lengthy response that must have cost your time.

I am a PhD student who have done over 100 types of reactions (not a few reactions with 100 different substrates) and I know how to use the separatory funnel. Indeed, the question of shaking organic solvent with aqueous layer results in slight increase in pressure is NOT to ask "HOW to use separatory funnel". This is just a phenomenon. And I would like to know the reason for this from other's opinions. (Despite I have some my own answers for this) Could you please read carefully before you comment?

I understand that this question seems not important for you professional guys. But I, also being a professional worker, would like to know this.

This question is pertaining to graduate students because: just think about when you supervise undergraduate or fresh graduate students and if they ask me question like this, how do I answer??? Also, I personally guess a lot of people ignore question like this.
