Hi all, new to the forum, so hopefully I can properly ask my question.
Mid term today had the question:
If there are two elements, lets say Sr and Ca and Sr has a minimum threshold of 3.73X10^-18 J and Ca has the minimum threshold of 4.50X10^-18 J and light with energy above both thresholds is shined at each element then,
1. Which element has the highest Kinetic Energy? I put Sr in this case, assuming all the energy not required for the minimum threshold is turned into Kinetic Energy.
2. The one I really have a question about: Which will have the shortest wavelength. I put Sr again, assuming the Higher Kinetic energy emitted will emit a photon with a higher frequency and thus a shorter wavelength.
Can someone clarify if this is correct?
Thanks in advance,
Nick
