What's meant by volumetric yield in this context?

You are provided a sample of Carbon-14 as Barium Carbonate. When treated with acid to make CO2, the volumetric yield is 80%.

What's meant by volumetric yield here? I'm not a chemistry major and a lot of the language my professor uses isn't clear to me. I searched for volumetric yield but the meaning seems ambiguous to me here.

Can you give some more details about the context in which it was used?

My bet is that it is related to the volume of the gas produced, which would mean you got 80% of the volume predicted by simple stoichiometry. But if so, 80% looks low to me.
