Topic: Chemistry lab DATA COLLECTION???  (Read 4969 times)

Chemistry lab DATA COLLECTION???

'to determine the activation energy for the reaction of peroxodisulphide by iodide ions'

we did this practical work and have to write the report on that

but what should i write on DATA COLLECTION part?
it said
-Record appropriate raw data(qualitative and quantitative....WHAT IS THESE??)
  including units and uncertainties.

-Presents raw data clearly, allowing for easy interpretation...

I dont get these 2 ...
Can anyone tell me what are they and give me the examples.. please  :)

Have you checked a dictionary?

Even though the definitions your probably know. Your teacher probably wants you to present all the raw data numbers, observations, and anything that you don't know. Then he/she probably wants you to summarize all the data and uncertaintities in a manner that is deemed understandable and clear.

Those things all depend on your teacher though.

so how can i make a table to resemble all the datas?

or isnt it same as data processin and presentation??

One excellent way to present raw data is in a table.

You can take any/all numbers or values that you measured and put them in a table. Make sure you put informative headings at the top of each column on your tablel. Also remember to include the units and any errors associated with the data.

It is also a good idea to give your table a title so that is easy to refer to in the text part of your report.

so ive got time, temperature and rate of the reaction

so make a table with that??
hmm..

i also draw the graph of the reaction but dut to the some time taken
was measured wrongly...
so some dots are off from the original curved graph....
so should i make (draw) a line except that missed dots??

and then write the limitation in the conclusion...right??

sorry for that im not gd at explaining in english anyway  :-*

Yes you can tabulate that data.

You can exclude data from a graph only if you can justify why you have excluded it.
