BALANCE CHEMICAL EQUATIONS ALGEBRAICLY
« on: March 31, 2014, 12:01:46 AM »
Show work.
 ??? ??? ???

_Bi2S3+_HNO3=_Bi(NO3)3+_NO+_S+_H2O

_P2I4+_P4+_H2O=_PH4I+_H3PO4

You can use variables & for the first one to fill in the blanks.
For the second one use abcd&e.

A couple of issues with your post based on the supposition you have not read forum rules.
Please read forum rules.

You need to show some work so we can help you understand where you went wrong.
Do not use editor functions in a way that is distracting.
I bet you irritated many readers of your post with the arbitrary bold.
You should practice writing formulas using the editor functions in this forum.
That way we can understand what you are asking.

Is this what you meant to for the formulas you wrote,

_Bi2S3 + _HNO3  :rarrow:  _Bi(NO3)3 + _NO + _S+ + _H2O

_P2I4 + _P4 + _H2:rarrow:  _PH4I + _H3PO4

Where the underscore is a place holder for possible values to balance equation.
