I`m just not getting it  :(
From a potential diagram, how can you tell what would happen if a metal was added to dilute acid in a sealed vessel, with no oxygen present.
All I can understand is, negative figures mean the reaction is favourable and positive figures mean un-favourable ??

So Metal (s) + H+(aq) =  ??

What type of potential diagram are you dealing with?  The three types of diagrams commonly used are Latimer, Frost, and Pourbaix.
